Don’t drink alcohol or smoke during your remote hearing.

Designate someone to be available to take care of your pets and children.

Attending your hearing at home or at another location?

That’s totally fine, but you should treat the hearing as seriously as if you were in the courthouse.

It’s important to make a good impression when you’re in court. Here are some guidelines to follow:

Dress like you’re going to a job interview.
Sit in front of a solid neutral background, if possible.
Mute yourself when you’re not speaking to avoid background noise.
Use a headset or headphones with a built-in microphone
Make sure you have all paperwork you might need to consult during the hearing in front of you
If you’re using a phone or tablet, try to prop it up securely.
