Caution: You Can Still be Terminated for Marijuana Use at Work in Colorado

Marijuana use may be legal in the state of Colorado for recreational use, but watch out! You can still get busted at work!

If your employer asks you to do a drug test and you fail, your job is in jeopardy. The Colorado Supreme Court ruled that businesses can fire employees who use marijuana during their off-time, including those with a legal prescription for medical pot. The Colorado Constitution states that employers don’t have to amend their policies to accommodate employee’s marijuana use.

  • difficulty with thinking and problem-solving
  • impaired memory
